Dance is my passion, but it is much more than that; it is the foundation of my education and culture.
Evelin's story with the arts starts a long time ago. She was born and raised in Salvador Bahia- Brasil in a family of artists.
“ All started in our backyard. My mom is an art teacher, and storyteller. My two sisters introduced me very early to the world of music and performing arts. My dad, the visionary who let the doors open for us to explore and conquer that world. We learned to craft our vocation into a profession doing what we love and sharing the belief in its power to reflect and change the world around us.”
After completing a degree from the Dance University UFBA, Brazil (Teacher Certificate), Evelin started her international career, performing her own solo work along with teaching classical ballet, creative dance, and contemporary dance for children, youths, and adults.
In Hong Kong , where she lived with her family for the last 18 years, Evelin completed a master’s degree in Fine Arts with a Major in Dance Education, at the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong, and founded and directed the company MotiveforMotion, since 2011.
Motive for Motion is the creative engine behind the Evelin’s artistic practice, it brings together dance, movement research, storytelling, and cultural participation through performances, workshops, and collaborative projects that invite people of all ages to sense, explore, create, and connect.
Currently living in Zurich, Evelin is working on her current project Making Up Stories, an Participatory Performance experience for young audiences through dance, music and storytelling. Making Up Stories is a participatory project that emerged from Evelin Keller’s artistic research at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) within the CAS Arts and International Collaboration programme. Following an initial pilot in Salvador, Brazil, in 2024, and subsequent community presentations at the Familienzentrum Adliswil, the project continues to evolve through performances, workshops, and collaborative encounters that invite children, families, and communities to create stories through movement, imagination, and shared experiences.
Ms Evelin
I like to think that my approach to teaching dance nurtures both wings and roots. Beyond discipline and technique, my focus is on awakening a child's presence, expression, joy, and spontaneity during the learning experience. My methodology is artistic, performative, exploratory, and inclusive, always striving to nurture each child's individual potential while also promoting the social integration that group dance provides.
My teaching materials include dance techniques such as classical ballet (RAD and the Cuban method), contemporary dance, as well as improvisation and composition exercises. The activities are designed to improve posture, body and movement awareness, coordination, concentration, and interaction.
The classes, playful and fun, stimulate children’s creativity, self-confidence, and expression, regardless of their gender or age.

The child and
her universe
The universe of children, with their imagination, sensitivity, and pure and curious behavior, fascinates me. I find it an incredibly enriching creative ground for Dance and I love being a part of this constellation.
